How we calculate

Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is basically the highest average power you can sustain for about an hour while cycling without completely exhausting yourself. Think of it as the pace you can keep up during a really tough ride. To calculate your FTP, you can do a 20-minute test where you ride as hard as you can. After the test, use this calculator to determine your training zones.
